    Purpurite - Location: Karibib District Erongo region Namibia. Miniature (see photo for more details). Here we have a specimen of the manganese iron phosphate mineral purpurite. The purpurite has a nice lavender color and a 'chatoyant' luster. Purpurite is used in lapidary applications and polishes well. The beautiful lavender color along with the chatoyant luster makes attractive cabochons and carvings as well as colorful and attractive specimens.
