Here we have a rock specimen composed of calcite (white) and franklinite (black crystals) from the very famous Franklin New Jersey locality (Sterling Hill Mine). Franklin New Jersey is famous for its highly colorful fluorescent minerals. This piece will fluoresce a very bright orange (calcite) color with SHORT wave ultraviolet light (see photo).
